Cyprus Poker Network goes global!

9 December 2009 26 Comments

Cyprus poker networkLast night saw game three of the Cyprus Poker Network league and what a cracker it turned out to be.

Eventually won by newcomer hanator5 the game was a GLOBAL event with players from no less than 29 Countries competing to win a place in our final in January. Winner from 2 weeks ago Lapta Lout finished in an impressive 3rd place and takes a healthy lead going into the final league game in 2 weeks time.

It was tough going for me again this week and my exit was very quick. After 6 hands and with a queen flush of diamonds and the Ace on the board, I moved all in on the river only to find to my horror -madsparrow- holding the King AND 3 of diamonds to take the pot and knock me out to claim the bounty.

Appleinsider was quick to follow (taken down by crybabyalex) and with us out of the way, the game settled into a fascinating battle of wits, nerve and determination for the remainder of the players. The game had everything suck outs and all-in’s galore, there was even a royal flush on the final table. Special mentions must go to ifold4malt (best name) and Cyp12 for battling so strongly to finish 2nd.

All in all a great game. Many thanks to all the players involved and the contribution they made to the friendly spirit the game was played in. Keep an eye out for the password to our pre-xmas game on the 22nd December. Join our facebook group or follow us on Twitter to get the password first and see some highlight from the game…

Here is the top 40 leaderboard correct as of 9th December 2009, if you were in the top 50 last night your scored points and they have been recorded. Thanks also to Pokertime for doing such an excellent job of hosting our tournaments.

Before we go here is a list of countries we had players competing from last night.
Germany, Belarus, Lithuania, UK, Estonia, Sweden, USA, Belgium, Croatia, Brazil, France, Venezuela, Latvia, Turkey, Russia, Slovenia, Netherlands, Canada, Romania, Austria, Ireland, Spain, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland and last but not least Cyprus.

See you next time!

    This game was great fun.

I want to ask why is it that every player in the league has the amount of games played as "3"? It was only my first game.

    Thanks Stacey002

I can fix my own door! He left me some sandpaper! I just wanted to let Tony know who he was sitting next to on the final table.

    Funny comment though.

Now off to a regular "live" game at Taj Mahal. (The restaurant in Alsancak, not the world famous site in India).

    Thanks Tony for the recommendation.

Hi Stacey, I was waiting for someone to ask this and it was you. I was going to produce the table based on how many games each player has played, so yours would be one… but as we have had about 150 players I felt the effort involved was unjustified. In other words it would've taken me all day to do!

    Good luck in the game…

Hi there, will add the pic to the facebook game 3 tomorrow. Spoke to Pokertime, you should get your bounty very shortly.
The password for the games is freely available 24hrs before the game on the site and twitter, our facebook group gets it 5 days before anyone else so it is down to them to register.
the password is different for game 4
